One of the secrets of real magic is that it is controlled by the mind. The more things in your ritual to help your mind associate with your goal, the more powerful your ritual may be. Coloured candles, scented oils, natural incenses, and more all add to the impact of the magic you wish to do.
But how do you know which incense to burn? Is it possible to add scented oils together to get a more powerful oil? And how do you make your own, appropriately-scented tools?

The answers to questions like these and hundreds more can be found in The Complete Book of Incense, Oils & Brews by world-famous author Scott Cunningham. This is a greatly expanded and rewritten version of The Magic of Incenses, Oils and Brews. It includes over 100 new formulas, proportions for each element of the recipes (the most requested feature from his previous book), how to substitute ingredients, and much more. Besides the formulas, it also includes the exact methods of making all of these scented tools, including how to extract the essences from the herbs.

Each one of the formulas is precise and easy to make. Do you need luck? Take 2 parts vetivert, 2 parts allspice, 1 part nutmeg, and 1 part calamus, grind them together as finely as possible, then sprinkle the powder in a circle around you, beginning and ending in the East and moving clockwise. Sit within this circle and absorb the powder's energies. Also included are other ways to use magical powders that will have you coming up with your own ideas for them, too.

There is a legion of recipes for incenses. There are three for the sun and two for consecrating talismans. There are incenses for each of the astrological signs and ones to help you study better and gain success. You'll also find incenses for each of the planetary influences. There are four for Saturn alone!
This compendium of magical lore is a vital tool for every magical person on any magical path, whether you are a beginner or an expert.

Dragon's Blood with white and blue sage smudging bundle is a powerful blend for cleansing, purification, and creating a peaceful and calm atmosphere.

Dragons Blood is derived from the blood-red resin from the fruit of multiple species of the palm tree. It's known to be an incredibly powerful ingredient to include in any kind of ritual or spell work. Dragons Blood is particularly useful in driving away negative or evil energies. It's also known to be good for love spells and can be used to enhance potency in the bedroom.

Blue Sage, also known as Grandmother Sage in Indigenous cultures, is softer, and gentler in its smoke and smell. It is excellent for cleansing or purifying a space, person, or object.

White Sage, also known as Grandfather Sage in Indigenous cultures, is a powerful tool both in energy and smell. Used often for cleansing and purifying, but also as an aid in exorcisms of bad spirits. The smell of the smoke is acrid, and strong, often overwhelming for some (firm believers of "if it doesn't resonate, don't use it") but can be very grounding for others.

USE:  Hold the bundle of herbs in the flame of a candle or a lighter. You can also blow gently on the bundle to burn the leaves faster, spread the fire more evenly and release more smoke. Use a fire proof container or shell to catch the ashes and embers.

*Do not leave burning unattended

Our sage and herb bundles are sustainably and ethically sourced and harvested. Hand wrapped in a cotton string.

Abre Camino — Road Opener — is one of the most widely used herbs in Afro-Caribbean spiritual traditions, including Santería and Cuban Lucumí practice. It is worked to remove obstacles, open blocked paths, attract opportunity, and clear the way for prosperity, love, and success. This packet of plant bath herbs can be used in spiritual baths, floor washes, mojo bags, oils, and cleansing rituals. 1 plant bath packet.

Traditional Uses

Abre Camino is called upon for strength, power, protection, and domination work. It is used to remove hexes and curses, break the Evil Eye, drive out evil spirits, and clear crossed conditions. It is also worked for good luck, money drawing, attracting clients, winning court cases, and breaking through obstacles that stand in the way of forward movement.

How to Prepare a Spiritual Bath or Floor Wash

• Bring a pot of water to a boil and pray over it — call your ancestors, Esu, or Eleguá to purify the water and assist in the work. Ask for cleansing of the home and body, removal of negative energy, hexes, and evil, and the opening of doors to opportunity, love, and prosperity.
• Remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes, then add the herbs. Light a white candle. Work the herbs through the water with your fingers while continuing to pray — speak plainly to your ancestors and guides about what you need. Once cooled, strain out the herbs. Add Florida Water, cascarilla, or a splash of rum if desired; you may also blow tobacco smoke into the mixture as you pray.
• For a floor wash, mix the strained liquid into a bucket of water and cleanse your home from back to front, ending at the front door. You can divide the mixture into three portions and work it over three days for a deeper cleanse during periods of spiritual warfare.
• Mark the door frame with a cascarilla cross after cleansing to prevent negative energy from returning. Discard all used water toward the street when finished.
• For a spiritual bath, add the strained liquid to your bathwater. After bathing and once the water drains, stomp the drain three times and declare: Evil be gone! It is done!

Correspondences

Tradition: Santería, Lucumí, Afro-Caribbean folk magic • Orisha: Esu, Eleguá • Energy: Road Opening, Obstacle Removal, Protection, Prosperity, Victory • Best For: Crossed conditions, blocked paths, court cases, money drawing, evil eye removal

A coffin-shaped incense burner that does double duty — burning your incense on top and storing your sticks in a hidden compartment below. Handmade in India from Sheesham wood (Dalbergia Sissoo), known for its rich natural grain and durability, with traditional hand-carved jali lattice work on the lid and brass inlay sun and moon decorations on the sides. It’s a genuinely beautiful object that earns its place on an altar or shelf.

The lid lifts to reveal the burning surface with a slot for sticks and two inner metal plates for cones. Ash collects inside the box while the incense aroma drifts freely through the carved lattice. The storage compartment in the base holds a full supply of sticks, keeping your workspace tidy.

• Material: Sheesham wood with brass inlay
• Dimensions: 12" L x 2" W x 2.5" H
• Use: Holds both incense sticks and cones

Cobra Black Snake Pellets are an old-school botanica and folk magic curio used in protection, uncrossing, jinx-removing, and enemy-turning work. When lit, the small pellet slowly burns and expands into a long, twisting column of black ash resembling a snake. In spiritual work, this dramatic transformation represents a crossed condition, harmful influence, or unwanted energy being brought to the surface, consumed, and removed.

The serpent carries powerful symbolism across traditions — protection, transformation, hidden power, renewal, and the ability to strike against threats. In hoodoo, rootwork, and botanica practice, Cobra Pellets are especially associated with defensive workings where the serpent symbolically confronts or consumes negativity surrounding a person, home, or situation.

Spiritual Uses

• Uncrossing and jinx removal
• Breaking negative or crossed conditions
• Protection of the home and household
• Enemy-turning and defensive work
• Removing unwanted spiritual influence
• Transformation and shedding old conditions
• Ending stagnant or troublesome situations

How to Use

Place one pellet on a fireproof surface outdoors — a metal dish, cast-iron cauldron, or stone surface. State your intention or prayer before lighting. Focus on the condition you want removed as the black serpent forms and grows. The burning and eventual collapse of the ash symbolically represents the unwanted condition being consumed and losing its power.

Once fully burned and the ash is completely cold, the remains may be gathered and removed from the property as a symbolic conclusion to the working. Cobra Pellets can also be incorporated into larger cleansing or protection workings alongside spiritual baths, floor washes, protective oils, or candles.

Safety

For ritual use only. Not incense. Do not inhale the smoke. Burn outdoors only on a stable, non-flammable, heat-resistant surface. Keep away from children, pets, and combustible materials. Never leave burning material unattended. Allow ash to cool completely before handling or disposal.

Sold as a spiritual curio. Results are not guaranteed.
