Black Sage, salvia mellifera - small stick

Our Black Sage Smudge Herb Bundle is made with California Black Sage (Salvia mellifera), a strongly aromatic sage native to California. This is not Mugwort, that is also commonly called black sage. Black Sage grows naturally in dry coastal sage scrub and chaparral regions and is known for its earthy, resinous scent, woody stems, and small pale blue to lavender flowers. It has a deeper, more grounding fragrance than many other sage varieties, making it a popular choice for those who want a strong cleansing herb for the home, altar, doorway, or personal space. 

Traditionally, Black Sage is valued as a smoke cleansing herb used to clear away heaviness, refresh the home, protect thresholds, and remove stagnant or unwanted influences. How to Use:
Light the tip of the Black Sage bundle and allow it to catch briefly. Gently blow out the flame so the herbs smoulder. Move the smoke through your space, around doorways, windows, altar areas, or ritual tools while speaking your prayer, command, or intention. When finished, place the bundle in a fire-safe dish, shell, or heat-safe bowl and make sure it is fully extinguished.
