Mushroom Candle

One of our customer favourites — and magical indeed! The Mushroom candle by Madame Phoenix is shaped in honour of the sacred Amanita muscaria — fly agaric, the iconic red-and-white toadstool also known as the Flesh of the Gods. This legendary fungus was used as a sacred plant ally for tens of thousands of years across tribes of the Northern Hemisphere, its flesh holding transportive and visionary properties that allowed our ancestors to commune with the Divine, navigate the spirit world, and receive deep spiritual wisdom.

Later woven into the mythology of fairies and the fae, the mushroom became a symbol of the threshold between our world and the mysterious realm of the unseen — a doorway, a portal, a place where the veil grows thin and the ordinary world gives way to something far stranger and more beautiful.
