How to prepare:

Prepare a pot of boiling water and pray over it, calling your ancestors, Esu, Elegua, to purify the water and help to prepare this bath for cleansing and opening the doors to opportunity, love, prosperity, etc. ask to cleanse my home and body (bath and floor wash) of negative energy, hexes, spells, and evil. 

Remove the pot from the stove and cool for 10 minutes, add the herbs to the pot. Light a white candle, and add the herbs to the water. As you work the herbs with your fingers, pray to your ancestors, orisha or guides for help and cleansing. Talk to them about what you need. 

Wait for water to cool and later remove herbs with strainer. Add a bit of Florida Water, cascarilla, or a bit of rum. You can also blow tobacco smoke into the mixture as your pray to your ancestors.

Mix it into bucket with water to cleanse your home, or in your bath. You can separate into 3 parts to cleanse your home for 3 days if you are going through a spiritual war. Keep in the refrigerator.

Cleanse your home from back to front and cleanse your door. Make a cross with cascarilla on the door frame to prevent negative energy from returning to your home.

Throw all the left over water used to cleanse your home away towards the street. 

After a bath, when the water has gone down the drain, stomp the drain three times stating Evil be gone! It is done!

Patchouli oil has a very strong, deep, musky scent.  I find that patchouli is a scent that you either love or hate it. I've grown to love patchouli after working with it, it's very grounding and is magically used to draw more love into your life.  It is associated with the element of earth, a female plant. Associated with love, wealth and passion, patchouli is a very versatile scent and plant in magic.  Mostly an ingredient in money and prosperity rituals and spells.

The oil can be sprinkled onto money, added to purses and wallets, and placed around the base of green candles. Patchouli is also used in fertility spells and rituals. It is commonly added to love sachets and baths. It is also used to attract people and to promote lust.
