How to Use a Female Image Candle

A female image candle is used in candle magic to represent a specific woman—either the practitioner or the woman the spell is focused on. It acts as a symbolic stand-in so you can direct energy, intention, or spell work toward that individual.

Basic Steps

1. Choose the candle colour based on your intention (see meanings below).

2. Carve the candle with the woman’s name, birth date, or a symbol that represents her.

3. Dress (anoint) the candle with oil:

   • Upwards to draw things in

   • Downwards to banish or release

4. Add herbs or powders that match the purpose (optional).

5. Place the candle on an altar or heat-safe surface, often over a petition paper.

6. Light the candle while focusing on the desired outcome—visualizing, praying, or chanting.

7. Burn it in one sitting or over several days depending on your practice.
