RECIPE: CINNAMON HONEY CREME BRULE

Trust Your Gut tea is an artisanal total body tea, bursting with fruity goodness. Immune boost, heart health, supports healthy weight loss and digestion. A unique organic tea for good health.

I created this tea for a girlfriend of mine who wanted a herbal support to help regulate her digestion, stomach soothing, but also taste good. It turns out that this is one of my more popular teas and is always in high demand. What was a temporary tea experiment, is now a staple for many!

luxury ingredients: apple, hibiscus, senna leaves, rosehip, pomegranate pieces, papaya, blackberry, strawberry, freeze dried raspberry, spearmint leaves, formosa oolong, lemon pieces. 

Add 1tbs. to your tea strainer and steep in hot water for approx 5 minutes. Add sugar or honey to taste. 

Butterfly pea flower tea is a beautiful, magickal tea. It's flowers have magickal properties of transformation, serenity, love and protection. It's high in antioxidants which helps to protect your body from cell damage, high blood pressure, and helps slow premature aging. This is a perfect cup to me!

The flowers are deep blue in color with a tinge of purple that colors and flavors the water. The color goes from blue to purple when the pH level changes. Adding something acidic like lemon juice changes the color. It’s like magic!

Butterfly pea flower is a herbal tea and derives from the plant clitoria ternatea, named that because it’s shape supposedly resembles female genitalia. It is common in Thailand and Malaysia. In Thai restaurants, it is used as a natural food coloring or dye for sticky rice desserts and puddings. 

Health Benefits:

Drinking a cup of blue tea once or twice a week on an empty stomach flushes out toxins accumulated in the system and vastly improves digestive health.

A few fun recipes:

You can combine the flowers with different herbs, to change colors and flavour. Combine with hibiscus flowers, the drink turns bright red, with citrus, it turns a pretty purple.  You can also blend it with chamomile, lemongrass and add sugar.

1. Spice up your morning lemon water by turning your water purple, not to mention the added health benefits. Lemon water is already great for boosting your metabolism, so supercharge it by adding butterfly pea flower.

Turning water naturally blue is also a fun way to encourage kids to drink more water. 

2. I love how the colour gradient changes from blue to purple when you make magickal purple lemonade. You can also make a galaxy lemonade slushy 

3. Use the flowers to naturally dye food, such as making purple boiled eggs, add to bread dough & rice. 

4. Give your cocktails a natural burst of blue, purple or pink with butterfly pea flower. Brew as many flowers as you’d like in just enough water to cover them for about 2 minutes and then adding this to your drink. Leave the flowers for a gorgeous garnish.
