Yooperlite is a fascinating UV-reactive stone known for its remarkable ability to glow orange and yellow under ultraviolet light. In ordinary lighting, it displays natural shades of grey, charcoal and beige. Although commonly sold as a crystal, Yooperlite is actually a syenite rock containing fluorescent sodalite.

These Yooperlite bead bracelets showcase the stone's naturally mottled appearance, with fluorescent mineral inclusions that can reveal glowing patterns under a UV flashlight.

In modern crystal and magical practices, Yooperlite is associated with truth, self-expression, emotional awareness and personal discovery. Its connection to sodalite makes it popular for meditation, communication work and self-reflection. It is particularly associated with examining hidden feelings, speaking honestly and gaining a clearer understanding of oneself.

Beautiful, earthy grey bracelets available in 6mm and 8mm

Yooperlite gained recognition in 2017 when Erik Rintamaki discovered fluorescent stones along the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The name comes from Yooper, a nickname for residents of the region.  The brilliant orange fluorescence is caused by sodalite within the rock. A 365 nm UV flashlight is recommended to reveal the glowing patterns, which vary naturally between beads. Similar fluorescent sodalite-bearing rocks are also found outside Michigan.
