Originally designed in Germany in the early 1800s, the gilded and polished silver motif adorning our new covers is enhanced by the beautiful purple jewel tone.

The word “filigree” derives from the Latin words filum (thread) and granum (seed). For our Silver Filigree collection, the intricate filigree-inspired bindings are enhanced with foliage-ornaments and page edge printing. Our new Aubergine design is also adorned with delicate clasp closures.

The art of filigree is a moving testament to the human drive to ornament in order to delight the eye and focus the spirit and attention.
