Salomonssiegelwurzel

Solomon’s Seal (Polygonatum spp.) is a traditional woodland herb valued in both herbal practice and folk magic. Its root bears distinctive scar-like markings that resemble old seals, which helped give the plant its name and contributed to its association with protection, wisdom, and spiritual authority.

In witchcraft and folk magic, Solomon’s Seal root is traditionally worked with for protection, exorcism, spiritual cleansing, wisdom, and strengthening magical work. It may be carried in charm bags, added to protective workings, placed around the home, or included in incense and ritual blends. Some traditions also connect the root with sealing or completing a working, drawing on its name and symbolism.

In conjure and rootwork, Solomon’s Seal may be used in work for protection, success, wisdom, mastery, and spiritual strength. It can be carried in a mojo or root bag, kept with spiritual tools, or combined with other roots according to the intention of the working.

Traditionally, Solomon’s Seal root has also been used in herbal practice for joints, tendons, ligaments, sprains, bruising, and musculoskeletal support. These are historical and traditional uses rather than proven medical treatments, and internal use should be approached cautiously.
