Seven Sorrows Virgin Mary Rhodonite Rosary

The Seven Sorrows Virgin Mary Rhodonite Rosary is a beautiful devotional prayer piece dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows (Mater Dolorosa), honouring the seven sorrows experienced by the Blessed Virgin Mary throughout the life, suffering, and death of Jesus Christ. Combining Catholic tradition with the natural beauty of Rhodonite gemstones, this rosary symbolizes faith, compassion, perseverance, and the enduring strength of a mother's love.

The Meaning of the Seven Sorrows

The Seven Sorrows Rosary, also known as the Servite Rosary, is a traditional Catholic devotion that encourages prayer and reflection upon the seven significant sorrows of the Virgin Mary's life:

1. The Prophecy of Simeon
2. The Flight into Egypt
3. The Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple
4. Mary Meets Jesus on the Way to Calvary
5. The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus
6. Mary Receives the Body of Jesus
7. The Burial of Jesus

Through this devotion, the faithful seek the intercession of Our Lady of Sorrows for comfort during grief, strength through hardship, spiritual guidance, and compassion for those who suffer.

Rhodonite – The Stone of Compassion & Emotional Healing

Rhodonite is a beautiful pink-to-rose-coloured gemstone, often marked with natural black manganese oxide patterns. In contemporary crystal healing traditions, Rhodonite is associated with emotional balance, forgiveness, compassion, and healing from past emotional wounds.

Its symbolic connection to unconditional love and emotional strength complements the devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows, making this gemstone rosary a meaningful choice for personal prayer, remembrance, and spiritual reflection.

How to Use the Seven Sorrows Rosary

Unlike the traditional five-decade Catholic rosary, the Seven Sorrows Rosary typically consists of seven groups of seven beads, representing the seven sorrows of the Virgin Mary. Each group is used to meditate upon one sorrow while reciting seven Hail Mary prayers, with an Our Father traditionally prayed before each group.

The rosary may be used for daily devotion, prayers for grieving loved ones, seeking comfort during difficult times, or honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, September 15.
