About Open Sea:

Originally inspired by the salty, crystal clear blue shores of the Mexican Caribbean, Open Sea is a creative studio based in Brooklyn that specializes in fine stationery and paper goods. The company was established in 2015 by Melissa Constandse.

Our paper goods line is inspired by the occult, the Victorian era, and all manner of esoteric traditions, as well as naturalist art and the treasures of the plant and animal kingdom. Each piece is meticulously designed with purpose and intention as a tribute to long lost traditions and to the beauty and wonder of the natural world.

We've recently had to increase the price of our spiral journals due to an increase in production cost. All of our journals are printed and assembled by hand in New York. We work with local small businesses that we personally know and have had relationships with for over ten years. We value quality and social responsibility over profits and will always do what we can to provide our clients with responsibly made goods at a fair price.
