A scrying ritual to perform during the full moon. How to prepare your scrying surface, incantations to call upon the Moon Goddess, spirits and ancestors. Including recipes, tips and tricks. Read more..
The full moon happens when the sun is fully cast over the moon, making it appear full to the Earths inhabitants. You have the opportunity to work with both the moon and the suns power combined. They are supporting one another, it is a time of balance.Â
The full moon is an opportunity for charging, reflection and cleansing what is no longer serving. Paired with the intention you set during your New Moon Ritual comes the opportunity to gauge your progress and observe blocks that have surfaced.Â
We will then perform a full moon fire burning ceremony (in a fire safe container OUTSIDE) to begin the process of riding ourselves of those blocks.Â
In this ritual we are harnessing both the Moons magic and the Suns magic. We are calling upon the feminine energy of the moon to help us divine what is in our path followed by harnessing the suns masculine energy to burn and clear our path.Â
Required Materials:
The first thing you’ll want to do is cleanse and dress your candle devoted to the Moon Goddess and your candle devoted to benevolent spirits and ancestors.Â
We recommend carving a triple moon symbol into your candle. Herbs, oils and crushed stones we recommend for the Moon Goddess candle are:
We recommend carving specific names of your ancestors or your family name on your spirit/ancestor candle. Herbs and oils we recommend to dress the candle are:
After your candles are fully prepped we’ll begin by working some divination magic. It is the time to achieve some clarity on what is blocking you and to banish that which is in your way.Â
You may use your favourite divination tool such as Divination Cards, Runes or pendulums. For the purpose of this spell we will use a scrying mirror.Â
If a scrying mirror is not available to you or out of budget a great alternative is to use a black pot or pan. I’ll walk you through how to prepare your pan for ritual and how to add blessed water to create a reflective surface.Â
Â
Wash your pan in cold water and baking soda. Just like black salt, baking soda has banishing properties. This will not only deeply clean your pan, but it will spiritually cleanse it and bring it to an energetic neutral state.Â
Next coat the inside of your pan with a thin layer of coconut oil. Coconuts are a wonderful offering to deities, spirits and our ancestors. While spreading the oil over your pan repeat three time:
Magical moon, great Goddess of the hidden.
Help me on my journey I have chose to ridden,
that which blocks my path.
To rid that which keeps me from all I hath.Â
The last step is to fill your pan with your chosen water and add three drops of a protection oil or a small cap full of a protective cologne.Â
If you have charged full moon water, any storm water or Florida water now is a perfect time to use that. Otherwise distilled water will work.Â
Now that your scrying pan is ready to use let’s get into the ritual!
It is extremely important to cleanse yourself and your space, ground yourself and create sacred space. This ritual calls to the Goddess of the moon, ancestors and spirits who have messages or guidance for us. Without the proper protection this leaves space for malicious entities to enter our space and influence us.Â
Take it from my personal experience, you’re going to want to create sacred space and protect yourself properly.Â
Witchy Tip: If possible place your scrying surface somewhere where it can reflect the moon while you gaze.Â
In your sacred space sit comfortably in front of your scrying surface.Â
Call in the Goddess of the Moon, spirits and ancestors with the following incantation.Â
I call to the Goddess of the Moon.
This path I walk is right for me.
Show me what I must prune,
Obstacles and struggles I wish to for see.
Hail, and Welcome.Â
Light your Candle for the Goddess of the Moon.Â
Beloved ancestors, benevolent spirits,
Guide me safely down my path.
Find me in favour of outstanding Merits,
My goals I wish to enjoy in the aftermath.Â
Hail, and Welcome.Â
Light your Candle for the spirits and the ancestors.Â
Sit comfortable and gaze into your scrying surface. Begin breathing deeply. My favourite breathing method for this type of meditation is square breathing.Â
Give yourself a minimum of 15 minutes to sit in this meditative space. Let your mind ease into the breathing and notice any images, thoughts, feelings, colours or sounds you perceive in your minds eye or ear. Don’t touch the thoughts or sounds, just notice them.Â
Witchy Tip: Record the session and if you notice anything you may wish to describe it outlaid or say any words that come to the surface. This is like automatic writing expect for speech.Â
Be patient, if you have a busy mind this ritual could take longer. Have faith that something will come through and if it doesn’t then this ritual is not what you need.Â
Once you are satisfied and your ritual is complete you may dismiss the Goddess and the spirits.
