Leo Full Moon: Confidence, Setting Goals and Going After What You Want

On Thursday, January 25th, we will experience our first full moon of 2024. Full moons symbolize the start of the two week waning cycle of letting go of which no longer serves us. Letting go with the full moon allows new and better things to enter your life.
Leo encourages us to accept how we feel, to feel those emotions to the fullest- but then we must let go. There is a certain balance that comes with letting us feel how we do but also not letting ourselves dwell in it. Be kind to yourself but also hold yourself accountable. Keeping this balance will allow everything else in your life to become balanced as well. Thoughts become clearer, priorities are made and the motivation to get things done becomes easier.
Confidence! Confidence! Confidence! Use the energy of Leo to retain this balance! Trust that you know what’s best for you and what no longer serves you. Have confidence in the goals you set for yourself and the perseverance to accomplish them!

The January full moon is also called the “Wolf Moon” and mixed with Leo’s lion, this energy pushes us to take what we want with our teeth. Set our goals for the new year and chase after them. It is the perfect time to start laying the foundations and mindset of our future successes.
Goal Making
There are seven main steps to goal making:
- Figure out your goals.
- Write your goals down.
- Consider how you’ll measure your goals.
- Prepare for potential obstacles.
- Map out a timeline.
- Create a plan.
- Monitor progress consistently.
One thing we wanted to add to this well known roadmap is to celebrate the small victories. Celebrating small victories sets up a positive reinforcement in our own minds. Celebrating the small things like finally going through all that junk in your basement or finally starting that book you always wanted to write (even if it is just a page) wires your brain to understand that something good comes from the hard work. Celebrating can also be done in your own style, whatever that may be. Maybe your celebration calls for a Starbucks run, or maybe a glass of wine with dinner or even taking a relaxing bath. Whatever your form of positive reinforcement may be, include this in your cycle as well.. We deserve to be proud of ourselves, even the small feats.
Following a set plan is the very foundation to improving life and heading towards success in whatever that may be. It allows all those jumbled thoughts to transform into a cohesive process.
We will always promote journaling! Here you can keep track of your goals, your progress and how it made you feel. Sometimes when we see our thoughts and goals physically in writing before our eyes, they can become much easier to sort through. Some journals have guided prompts to help you think about what to write. Staring at a blank page can be intimidating to some- when there’s a world of possibilities, where do you start? Whereas others have so much circling their thoughts, they can just “word vomit” onto the page easily. Whether your journal is guided or open ended, clarity can come after consistency and accountability.
